Missing You

Missing You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my take on this week's challenge at Global Design Project. My version of the inspiration card features a similar layout and focal image, but has a more whimsical feel.

My globe is from the I Miss Your Hugs stamp set from My Favorite Things. I used pigment inks to stamp the two images, then cut out the piece with the matching die. The image was positioned on a piece of teal patterned paper over a mix of blue, green, and teal strips. For interest, I used some slanted edge pieces, some stitched fishtail pieces, and some plain old cardstock strips fished out of my scrap pile. Once the image was in place, I used foam tape to add the little heart shaped speech bubble at the left of the earth image. The "missing you" sentiment was stamped on a narrow light blue strip and placed on the panel with one edge tucked beneath the raised heart shaped bubble. I accented it with a small baker's twine bow, then added a pair of teal enamel dots to finish the visual triangle. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating teal card base.

Materials Used:
I Miss Your Hugs stamp set, I Miss You Hugs, Slanted Sentiment Strips, and Pierced Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Lemon Grass and Aquamarine pigment inks (Avery Elle); Rainwater pigment ink (Mama Elephant); Ocean cardstock (Recollections); Green Parakeet cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Pattern Play 6x6 paper pad (Reverse Confetti); teal enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); twine; foam tape
