Lifesaver
Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. The wavy stripes on the sketch immediately brought water to mind, so I created a beachy thank you design. I used the Hit the Slopes die set to cut the panels for the beach and water. They were layered on to a Sno Cone card base, starting with the kraft "sand" at the bottom, then tucking the blue water layers beneath the top edge of the kraft piece. My focal image is the cutie from the Pure Innocence Sunny Days Ahead set. I color3ed her up with Copic markers and carefully cut her out, then used foam tape to adhere her to the cardfront. To fill in the scene, I added a die cut sun and cloud to the upper left corner of the cardfront. The "thank you for being a lifesaver" sentiment was curved on my block to match the shape of the wavy blue panel, then stamped in black ink just above the top of the "water" to finish the design.
