Sending a Little Message to Say Happy Bird-Day

Sending a Little Message to Say Happy Bird-Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
The theme for the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge is birthdays. The challenge was just in time for the birthday for a special little guy who's turning three. He's a big fan of ducks, so I hope the sweet chick from Lawn Fawn's Special Delivery set will be close enough for him!

I colored up the chick and some accessories with Copic markers, then used the matching dies to cut out the colored image.  I assembled the pieces on a blue panel with a strip of green grass created with a border punch placed along the bottom edge. To fill in the scene, I added some envelopes and a box from the Special Delivery Box Add On stamp set.  The "sending a little message to say..." sentiment was stamped at the top of the panel in black ink. To finish the sentiment, I stamped "happy bird-day" on a white speech bubble cut with a die from the Love Letter die set and positioned the bubble next to the chick. The little scene was matted on yellow and green cardstock panels, then layered on to a coordinating plaid patterned paper panel. The panel was adhered to an aqua card base. I think this will be a hit with my little friend!

Materials Used:
Special Delivery and Special Delivery Box Add On stamp sets, Perfectly Plaid-Spring 6x6 paper pad, Special Delivery and Love Letter dies (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Simply Chartreuse and Bright Buttercup cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Ocean cardstock (Recollections); Grass border punch (Fiskars); foam tape
