Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things

Here's my card for the current challenge at The Paper Players. With Mother's Day coming up soon, I decided to use the layout to make a floral design for the occasion. My focal image is a pitcher of flowers from the Mother's Day Bouquet stamp set from My Favorite Things. I stamped the image on a pierced oval die cut, then used Copic markers to color in the stamped image. For the background, I matted a piece of leaf patterned lemon yellow paper on green cardstock before adhering it to a coordinating yellow card base. I added a matching green pierced oval die cut on top, then positioned a wide strip of green dotted patterned paper across the middle of the cardfront. The colored image was added on top. The "happy Mother's Day" sentiment from MFT's All About Mom stamp set was stamped beneath the image in black ink to finish the design. I used my MISTI so I could double stamp the text to be sure it showed clearly against the print background.

Materials Used:
Mother's Day Bouquet and All About Mom stamp sets, Pierced Oval STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Old Olive and Barely Banana cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Simply Chartreuse and Lemon Tart patterned paper (Papertrey Ink)
