Here's my card for the current sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. I paired the sketch with the suggested butterfly theme for this simple, sweet design.
I built my card around the pretty multicolored floral patterned paper panel scrap I used on the right side of the card. The patterned piece was matted on coordinating lemon yellow cardstock before it was adhered to the green cardfront. I used the Stitched Butterflies dies from Lil' Inker Designs to create a layered butterfly element to add to the panel. For interest, I used vellum between the dark pink and light pink layers and adhered the bodies only at the center. This allowed the wings to be folded up for dimension. The butterfly was attached to the cardfront using foam tape for more dimension. The "sky's the limit" sentiment from LID's Rainbow and Clouds stamp set was stamped in pink ink on a white stitched sentiment flag and placed beneath the butterfly to complete the design.
Materials Used:
Rainbow and Cloud Sentiments stamp set, Stitched Butterflies and Stitched Sentiment Flag dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Green Parakeet, Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, and Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white vellum (The Paper Company); Hello 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); clear crystals (Recollections); foam tape
Your card is a harbinger of spring, Lori! The bright colors and patterned paper are the perfect combination. Using vellum with your butterfly was a great idea and I like that the wings have movement. Thank you for playing along with us at TSOT #499. -- Melanie R.
