No Lion

Here's my take on Altenew's June Inspiration Challenge. I used the color palette along with Altenew's Geometric Menagerie stamp set for this clean and simple design. The regal lion image seemed like a good match for the natural beauty in the inspiration photo.

No Lion card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Altenew
I used the set's lion as my focal image. To bring in the golden elements from the inspiration photo, I stamped the image in black ink on gold paper. The die cut image was adhered to a turquoise square using foam tape for dimension. The square and the narrow gold frame around it were both created using the Fine Frames Square die. I positioned the square on a white panel, angling it for interest. The set's lion-themed punny sentiment was stamped in gold pigment ink on a brown cardstock strip, then heat embossed in gold. I placed the embossed strip on the white panel, tucking one end under the raised lion image. The finished panel was adhered to a contrasting turquoise card base to match the background behind the lion.

Materials Used:
Geometric Menagerie stamp set, Geometric Menagerie and Fine Frames Square dies (Altenew); Memento Tuxedo Black and Encore Gold inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede cardstock (Stampin' Up!); gold paper (Target); Zing Gold embossing powder (American Crafts); foam tape
