You're My Zest Friend

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge. I combined the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (color scheme, lemon theme, and woodgrain elements).

You're My Zest Friend card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
My woodgrain panels were created with an older impression plate and kraft cardstock. For interest I inked the panels with distress ink before adhering them to the bottom of a white card base, leaving just the tiniest sliver of white visible between them. I topped the trio of woodgrain panels with a wide strip of lemon yellow cardstock. I used stamps from the My Favorite Things Kitschy Kitchen to create a bowl full of lemons to place at the top of the lemon yellow strip. The lemons were stamped in yellow pigment ink and heat embossed so they'd look slightly shiny like real lemons. The "you're my zest friend" sentiment from the coordinating You Bake Me Happy stamp set was stamped to the left of the lemon bowl in brown ink to finish the design.

Materials Used:
Kitschy Kitchen and You Bake Me Happy stamp sets, Kitschy Kitchen dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Rich Cocoa and Memento Luxe Wedding Dress and Dandelion inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Vintage Photo distress ink (Ranger); Lemon Tart and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Imprints 4-Woodgrain/Leaves impression plate (Clear and Simple Stamps); Clear and Snow embossing powders (Recollections); foam tape
