Blue Blocked Birthday

Happy Birthday to You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti
Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. It features the same color scheme and theme as the card I shared yesterday. You can never have too many birthday cards on hand!

For this design, I used scraps of three different aqua patterned papers to create the blocked panel on the front of the teal card base. The block "happy" from the Reverse Confetti Happy dies was cut from teal cardstock matching the card base. I used foam tape to place the word on the cardfront, then added the individual letters cut from aqua cardstock onto the die cut. The "birthday to you" sentiment from the Happy Coordinates stamp set was stamped on an aqua cardstock strip in teal ink and placed on the cardfront directly under the die cut word to finish the design. I thought about adding some enamel dots as an accent, but in the end decided that the mix of patterns was enough on this one.

Materials Used:
Happy Coordinates stamp set, Happy dies (Reverse Confetti); Cookie Monster ink (Taylored Expressions); Ocean cardstock (Recollections); Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); foam tape
