It's time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week with a color combination inspired by design of a unique tiered cake--light blue, dark blue, forest green, and brown.
The layout for my design is from the current challenge at Sunday Stamps. I used the large panel to create a wintery scene with stamps from the Ready, Set, Snow set from My Favorite Things. I usually shade the bear just a bit to make the fur white, but this time, I colored the bear with brown markers, then dabbed the colored image with a rag dipped in colorless blender to give it a textured look. The scarf, goggles, and snowboard were colored to match the rest of the challenge colors. After cutting the image out with my Scan 'n Cut, I used foam tape to position the bear on a pale blue panel over a shimmery white die cut hillside. The panel was adhered to a dark blue card base over an angled green cardstock panel. The set's "happy brrthday" sentiment was stamped on a narrow white strip. I layered the strip on to a green cardstock strip, then used foam tape to place the text on the cardfront. I may go back and add a few sequin "snowflakes" to the upper right side of the panel to fill in the open space just a bit...To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD680. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd680 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and this week's Guest Star Stamper.
