Color Throwdown 680-Happy Brrrthday

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week with a color combination inspired by design of a unique tiered cake--light blue, dark blue, forest green, and brown.

The layout for my design is from the current challenge at Sunday Stamps. I used the large panel to create a wintery scene with stamps from the Ready, Set, Snow set from My Favorite Things. I usually shade the bear just a bit to make the fur white, but this time, I colored the bear with brown markers, then dabbed the colored image with a rag dipped in colorless blender to give it a textured look. The scarf, goggles, and snowboard were colored to match the rest of the challenge colors. After cutting the image out with my Scan 'n Cut, I used foam tape to position the bear on a pale blue panel over a shimmery white die cut hillside. The panel was adhered to a dark blue card base over an angled green cardstock panel. The set's "happy brrthday" sentiment was stamped on a narrow white strip. I layered the strip on to a green cardstock strip, then used foam tape to place the text on the cardfront. I may go back and add a few sequin "snowflakes" to the upper right side of the panel to fill in the open space just a bit...
