Three teachers at my school are celebrating birthdays this week. I knew that the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches would be perfect for creating a trio of cards to celebrate them.
Here's one of the designs. I used a trendy gray and yellow color scheme, using Reverse Confetti's Happy dies to cut a background from gray and individual letters from sunny yellow for my focal panel. After assembling the die cut word using foam tape, I placed it on a pierced rectangle die cut. The die cut was matted on gray and yellow cardstock matching the letters then adhered on a gray dotted panel covering most of a yellow card base. The "birthday to you" text from RC's Happy Coordinates stamp set was stamped on a strip of gray cardstock in gray ink. I used foam tape to place the strip beneath the die cut word to finish the card. The rest of the cards (which I didn't have time to take pictures of--sorry...) are the exact same layout but different color schemes. One is light purple text on a dark purple background with a purple patterned paper behind it and the other is light pink text on a bright pink background with a festive patterned paper behind it. From start to finish, the three cards took me less than an hour to make! I'm excited to share them with my colleagues later on this week.
Materials Used:
Happy Coordinates stamp set, Happy dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Harvest Gold and Weathervane cardstock (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (Recollections); pierced rectangle die (My Favorite Things); foam tape
