Color Throwdown 709-Have a Berry Happy Birthday

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Vickie is our hostess this week with a bold mix of colors--red, yellow, and green.

The layout for my design is based on the current challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. When I sat down to make my challenge card, I saw this trio of die cut strawberries made with Lawn Fawn's Strawberry Patch dies on my desk, left over from another project. Since they were a perfect match for the challenge colors, I decided to put them to use. I arranged them on a yellow leafy patterned paper panel using foam tape for dimension. I trimmed the corners diagonally before placing the panel on a red cardstock panel matching the berries. To set the patterned piece off from the red background, I tucked narrow strips of green cardstock beneath the edges of the patterned strip. The birthday sentiment from LF's Berry Special stamp set was stamped beneath the berry trio in black ink. I used my MISTI so I could double stamp the sentiment for a bold impression. The finished panel was layered on to a green card base matching the berry stems and the edging on the patterned strip.
