Color Throwdown 786-Birthday Wishes

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Lisa is our hostess this week with a great mix of colors--brown, pink, and cream.

Birthday Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
I added a touch of metallic to the mix for this sweet birthday themed design. The layout is from the current challenge at The Paper Players. These tiny cupcakes made with the Mini Cupcake Maker dies from My Favorite Things were a perfect fit for the grid of 4 squares. The cupcake bottoms were made from gold foil cardstock and each was dressed with a pink or brown top that I inked with distress ink for extra depth. The bottoms were adhered directly to the cream square. The tops were adhered with foam tape for dimension. I matted the squares on brown cardstock, then arranged them on a piece of pink dotted patterned paper on a pink card base. The "birthday wishes" sentiment from MFT's Bitty Birthday Sentiments set was stamped in brown ink on a narrow pink cardstock strip. I set the strip over the cupcake in the lower right corner of the grid using more foam tape to finish the card.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD786.  If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd786 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
