Color Throwdown 794-Happy Father's Day

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rohl is our hostess this week with a mix of neutral colors--grey, olive, and white.

Happy Father's Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
I thought that these colors would be perfect for a masculine design, so I looked a little bit ahead and created a Father's Day design with them. The card is built on a white card base embossed with a woodgrain pattern. I added a gray pierced circle die cut to the right side of the card, trimming the rounded part of the circle so that it was flush with the right edge of the cardfront. I looped some gray baker's twine in a messy pile in the middle of the circle, then topped it  with a layered die cut star adhered with foam tape for dimension. I stamped the Father's Day sentiment from the My Favorite Things All About Dad stamp set in black ink on a narrow strip of olive cardstock. The strip was adhered to the cardfront with foam tape, which allowed me to arrange a trio of gray enamel dots around and underneath the sentiment strip as a final accent.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD794. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd794 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
