The color combination on this card was inspired by the new polka dotted ribbon I picked up at AC Moore last week. The dots on the ribbon matched Stampin' Up!'s Cool Caribbean and Close to Cocoa perfectly. The Cool Caribbean panel on the card is embossed using a Fiskars texture plate that I ran through my Cuttlebug machine. The stars on the texture plate complemented the confetti and sparkle image in the Eat Cake stamp set perfectly! I've moved the Cuttlebug to my stamping table so it will be easy to reach and so that I'll use it often. The final touch was sponging with Close to Cocoa ink around the edges of the cake panel to soften the white a little, then adding some Stickles-an easy to use glitter glue--on the top of the candles to give the card a little sparkle. The cake panel is raised up a little on dimensionals to set it off from the background. I like the way this turned out so much that I think I'll have to try this same card layout in some other flavors later on . . .
