Cruisabella Car Congrats

As I write this, my sister should be picking up the brand new car she bought over the weekend. She has now become an official member of our family's Honda CR-V "club." She was joking that when we are all at our family's beach house, it will look like we have our very own Honda dealership in the driveway. Her new one is a little different, though. Unlike all the other neutral toned CR-V's in our family, this one is a shade of red. As she was picking out a color at the dealership on Saturday, we were reminiscing about a red car we used to own, a Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback nicknamed "Sparky." Sparky served us quite well--it traveled to Wisconsin with me the year I did my student teaching, then returned home with me for a while, then moved on to my sister when I finally was able to buy a car. Hopefully this red car will be as great and reliable as old Sparky was.

Anyway, this special event definitely needed to be commemorated with a card. Since I don't have an SUV stamp, Stamping Bella's Cruisabella will have to do here. Since the new car is a shade of red, of course that's what I used here. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and embellished it with a silver gel pen, some Glaze pens for the headlights and tires, and some Stickles for the side of the car.
I used some Crystal Effects to coat the car's windshield to make it look like it was glass. Hopefully my sister will have better luck with windshields on her new car than I've had with mine (I've replaced my windshield twice in a period of 3 months . . .).

Materials Used:
Cruiseabella stamp (Stamping Bella); Fundamental Phrases stamp set, Purely Pomegranate and Basic Black Classic inks, Barely Banana, Brocade Blue, and Whisper White cardstock, Cutie Pie designer series paper, Bashful Blue grosgrain, large oval punch, Crystal Effects, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Candy Cane Stickles (Ranger); flower (Prima); red brad (Joann) ; Prismacolor pencils
