Shortcut
Since I had to go to class after work tonight, this card features a little shortcut . . . For today's sketch challenge on SCS, I used an already colored stamped image from Boatloads of Love. If I remember correctly, I colored the image with an aquapainter and reinkers (boat) and Watercolor Wonder Crayons (water) and sponged in the sky.
The panel on the left side of the card is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then highlighted with white craft ink. I just gently rubbed the ink pad across the embossed surface to leave just a dusting of ink. This really makes the embossed images pop.
I attached the stamped image panel to the card with dimensionals. The card still didn't look quite finished to me, so I rummaged around a little in my (overflowing) baskets of scraps and embellishments. In my search, I found some twill tape that I "recycled" from a package of something that I can't remember now. I ended up adding a little tab made from the twill tape to the left side of the image panel. Now, I'm happier with the end result.
Materials Used:
Boatloads of Love stamp set, Brocade Blue, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, and Basic Brown Classic inks, White Craft ink, Brocade Blue, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, and Very Vanilla cardstock, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, aquapainter, dimensionals, corner rounders, sponge (Stampin' Up!); embossing folder (Cuttlebug); heart brads (Joann); blue Glaze pen (Sakura); twill tape (?)
