Vertical Vases in Vogue

I was checking some posting on other blogs and ran across Amy's version of yesterday's SCS sketch challenge. She rotated the sketch so it was vertical, instead of horizontal. That had never crossed my mind when I was looking at the sketch yesterday and thinking about what I'd do with it. It probably didn't help that I was tired after a full day of work, followed by a couple hours of my grad school class . . .

So, I gave the sketch another try tonight, this time using the sketch with a vertical orientation. I realized tonight I haven't used Vases in Vogue in a while, so I pulled out this recently neglected set for the main image. I stamped the vase on Old Olive cardstock, colored in the dots with a white gel pen, then cut it out and attached it to the image panel with dimensionals.

The flower things, or buds, or whatever they are (yes, as you can tell, I definitely do not have a green thumb!) are colored with Soft Sky ink and a blender pen, then dotted with Waterfall Stickles.

I used paper from my favorite designer paper pack, Fall Flowers, for the panel across the cardfront. The scalloped border was made with my new small corner rounder. I like the small scallops this makes--more delicate-looking than the old one.

Materials Used:
Vases in Vogue stamp set, Old Olive, Soft Sky, and Basic Black Classic inks, Soft Sky, Old Olive, River Rock, Kraft, and Very Vanilla cardstock, Soft Sky stitched grosgrain, white gel pen, round tab punch, small corner rounder, blender pen, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Waterfall Stickles (Ranger)

  1. Both card sketches worked great! But, this one is very pretty! I really like the blue flowers and that small scallop. I haven't seen a small corner rounder?!?! Please share your secret tool. ;)
