Holiday Cards from Special Friends
With all of my phone and internet issues over the last two weeks, I haven't yet shared the beautiful holiday cards I've received from some of my stamping friends. I was so excited to get these works of art in the mail.
This cute card is from Dawn at Treasure Oiler Designz. She is so creative! I've been admiring her creations with the cute little snowman from the Merry & Bright stamp set, so I was thrilled to receive a card from her with this image--and some of my favorite designer series paper, too.
This fun card is from Allison at Stampin When I Can. Allison is just amazing. I don't know how she does it, but she manages to keep up with pretty much everything that's going on in the stamping and scrapping blogging world and stamp, too. I check her site a few times (okay, probably more than a few!) every day to find links to new places and new things to try out. I love the Cat's Pajamas image and the glittery patterned paper she used here.
This pretty card is from my friend and graduate school colleague Lauren. She is a new stamper and had her first Stampin' Up! workshop in November.
I shared a card using the Snow Burst stamp set along with the Wintergreen designer series paper (I said it was one of my favorites!) and some Dazzling Diamonds. She was inspired to get all of the materials and create holiday cards for her family and friends. The artichoke snowflakes have Dazzling Diamonds in their centers (hard to see in my photo). Pretty nice for a new stamper, isn't it? I'm looking forward to stamping some more with Lauren in the new year.
And, while I'm sharing cards made by my friends, I can't leave out this one, even though it's not a holiday one. It is for a very special occasion, though. My best friend Michele's little boy will be celebrating his first birthday in early January. This is the fun card she made for his birthday party invitation. Isn't it awesome?
I love how she used the SU! punches to create the pieces of the train engine. The tracks were made with the retired Fun with Shapes set. The little "puffs" of smoke are actually the popcorn image from the also retired Treat Yourself set. In case you want to try this yourself, you should know that the card Michele used is larger than a standard sized one. It's about 6 1/2" across and about 5"high.
