Remember those buckets of white and cream sparkly floral confetti that I've been using? Well, now Michaels is carrying the same flowers in pretty blue and pink shades. Even though the flower can easily be colored with Copic markers, it's nice to have some ready-made colors to use. The blue flowers coordinated nicely with the Soft Sky in the patterned paper, so I added one of those to the edge of the image panel, along with a green dome floral embellishment, also from Michaels.

Birthday Birdie
I needed a birthday card for next week and Beate's weekend sketch challenge was perfect for this blue birdie birthday card.

Even though the flower can easily be colored with Copic markers, it's nice to have some ready-made colors to use. The bird image and sentiment from A Little Birdie Told Me fit nicely in an oval panel. I stamped the image twice so that I could color and cut out one of the images and attach it over the stamped image panel with a dimensional. I also colored and cut out the hat image, but I probably could have just stamped it directly on the oval panel and saved myself the hassle of cutting it out. I added some Stickles to the hat for a little sparkle.
I used patterned paper from the Fall Flowers package for the panel on the front of the card and used those colors for the rest of the card. I was able to use paper scraps to assemble the panel. The scraps are layered on a slightly larger River Rock panel. I probably should have used something a little darker or bolder, since the River Rock doesn't really stand out against the Sahara Sand cardfront.

This was such a fun sketch to work with. I think it's one I'll use again. It's great for using those strips of patterned paper that aren't big enough to cover a cardfront with but are too big to toss in the trash!
