Sleepy Stamping

Boy, am I sleepy today. Yesterday's long night of classes, combined with the extra long three overtime Stanley Cup final game last night have pretty much done me in. I knew I shouldn't have stayed up to watch the end of the hockey game, but I couldn't resist. Even if I don't particularly care about the teams playing for the Cup, I always want to see the final game. It's something about watching the players skate around with the cup, I guess. I was in the building ten years ago when Detroit won the Stanley Cup in Washington, DC and I thought I might see them do it again last night.

I missed my stamping time when I was at my classes last night! I did two cards using Mercy's sketch challenge from last week to make up for lost time.

The cute boot image from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb set was actually the first thing that came to mind when I saw this sketch. The colors came from today's color challenge on SCS. I love these shades of blue combined with red!

The boot is stamped in red craft ink. I stamped the sentiment alongside the image in Blue Bayou ink, except for the word "shoes." That I omitted when I stamped the image. Then I inked just that word with red craft ink. The clear stamps made it easy to get the word placed perfectly where it belonged. I added matching mats to the image and a white ribbon tab.

Here, I used some Prints Series scraps to make the striped panel. I stitched them together with red thread for more contrast.

Materials Used:
Green Thumb stamp set (Papertrey Ink); Real Red Craft ink, Blue Bayou Classic ink, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock, Prints Series designer paper, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); white grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); sewing machine

This one is my very first card using one of the Glam Girls from CC Designs. They are such fun images! They're releasing a few more tonight, I think. I'll have to check that out. I colored the image with Copic markers, then added some glitter to her glasses, headband, and ring (of course!) I stamped one of the sentiments in a coordinating color alongside the image and attached a matching rhinestone brad to the panel.

This sketch is great for using coordinating scraps of patterned papers. I used some little pieces of Wintergreen designer paper here. I glued them together, then stitched them with my sewing machine before attaching them to the cardfront.

If I get around to posting tomorrow, it will probably be late. My classes this summer seem to have a much heavier workload than my others have had (and in a really short time frame, too). I'm looking forward to the weekend already!

Materials Used:
Glam Girls stamp set (CC Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); white cardstock (Georgia Pacific); Always Artichoke Classic ink, Always Artichoke and Kraft cardstock, Wintergreen designer paper, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); markers and black glitter pen (Copic); green rhinestone brad (Making Memories); Stardust pen (Sakura)
