Celebrate '08!
Today’s registration day for the SU! convention in SLC. It's not the "official" start of the convention, but it's the beginning of the big events. I’m so excited to pick up my new catalog, shop at Memento Mall, visit the home office in Riverton, and meet up and swap with other stampers.
The theme for this year's convention is Celebrate '08. Since convention is really a big stamping party when you’re a hobby demo like I am, I decided to use the Mark the Date and Full Calendar stamp sets to create a swap card to go along with the celebration theme. I combined the stamp sets with festive-feeling colors. I stamped the calendar image and used one of the tiny icons to mark today’s date in a bright color (I don’t have tiny number stamps, so I just stamped on the fourth Wednesday of the month). I added the large arrow from the My Way punch to draw attention to the day. I stamped “July” along the side of the calendar, tone on tone, so it’s kind of hard to see. I think this would make a really cute party invitation, don’t you?
Materials Used (all from Stampin’ Up!):
Mark the Date, Full Calendar and Sprinkles stamp sets, Taken With Teal, Gable Green, and Regal Rose Classic inks, Taken with Teal, Gable Green, Regal Rose, and Whisper White cardstock, circle punches, mat pack and paper piercing tool, silver brad, My Way punch, Regal Rose wide grosgrain ribbon, dimensional

What a great idea! I really like the theme and colors you chose. Have a super time and don't forget to share the information with those less fortunate {{{wink}}}
