Happy Day

Yes, it's a happy day. I've completed my final presentation for my graduate school program and with the exception of actually getting a diploma in my hands, I'm finished with my masters degree. Now, my life can get back to normal once again . . . Be sure to see the previous post for a chance to win my graduation blog candy giveaway.

Since my classes met after work on Wednesday nights, I've missed doing the SCS sketch challenges. When I got home tonight, I made this card using today's sketch. I came home to a huge mess (the cat litter that I use on my steps in the winter scattered all over the front hallway--thanks, Cosmo!) and was really irritated when I should have been really happy. The little bit of coloring I did on this card helped to relax me again.

I used an image from the new Birds of a Feather kit from Unity Stamp Company. The bird is colored with Copic markers. I used a stipple brush to add a soft blue sky and put some pink Stickles on the flower.

Originally, I had the sentiment in the middle of the three diamond panels. It just didn't look right to me, so I flipped the panel over and added a Prima flower so it would match the others. Then I stamped the sentiment on the empty space on the image panel. Much better.

Materials Used:
Birds of a Feather stamp kit (Unity Stamp Company); markers (Copic Ciao); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); white cardstock (Xerox); patterned paper (Prima's Sasha Paper Collection); flowers (Prima); dome floral embellishments (Michaels); Cool Caribbean and Tempting Turquoise Classic inks, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, and Pixie Pink cardstock, Crystal Effects (Stampin' Up!); Cptton Candy Stickles (Ranger)
