Sketches {by Tamara} #5

Here’s the card I made for this week’s sketch at Sketches {by Tamara}. It’s really bright and fun and definitely has a summery feel.

The color scheme for card was inspired by the flocked chipboard flower at the card’s center. I found that this patterned paper that I’d used last week was a pretty good match for the pink and green in the flower, so I used it for the cardfront.

The swirl images are from the SU! Friendship Blooms set from this year’s Sale-a-Bration. I stamped them in Pink Passion ink so they’d stand out against the Pixie Pink panels. I used Occasions Collection, one of the hostess sets from the upcoming SU! catalog, for the sentiment. I really like this set. It’s so versatile and I know I’ll use it a lot. Since the card is so bright, I picked a really light pink ribbon to tie around the cardfront.

I added a scalloped circle panel under the chipboard flower for a little more contrast. I used a pop up glue dot to attach the flower to the cardfront.

I’ve been promised that my phone and internet service will be restored today (day 8 of no service now!) so hopefully that’s the case and I’ll be able to be back later on my very own internet connection with something else to share.

Materials Used:
Friendship Blooms and Occasions Collection stamp sets, Pink Passion Classic ink, Pixie Pink and Green Galore cardstock, scallop circle punch, pop up glue dot, dimensional (Stampin’ Up!); patterned paper (Me & My Big Ideas); chipboard flower (Amanda Blu); Sweet Blush satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink)
