Finding Joy in Butterflies

I found these pretty felt butterflies at one of the craft stores we visited last week in Salt Lake City and had to have them. I wasn't sure what I'd do with them, but I knew I'd think of something. It didn't take long for the perfect project to come up. I paired a few of the butterflies with some flocked paper to make this simple, delicate card for one of the challenges in the Verve Stamps forum on SCS.

I used glue dots and dimensionals to attach the trio of felt butterflies to the cardstock panel. I set two of them to extend a little beyond the edges of the panel. I also put a coordinating photo corner punch on one corner to add an additional bit of the darker pink shade used in the sentiment from Verve's Petals & Stems set.

I wrapped a piece of wide rose grosgrain around the card, covering where the patterned paper meets the cardfront. The paper has a shimmery cream background, which I didn't realize was cream until I went to put the card together--I thought it was shimmery white. Shows you what I know . . .

Materials Used:
Petals & Stems stamp set (Verve Stamps); felt butterflies (Heidi Swapp); patterned paper (Heidi Grace Designs); Regal Rose Classic ink, Pretty in Pink, Soft Sky, Regal Rose, and Very Vanilla cardstock, Regal Rose wide grosgrain ribbon, photo corner punch, mat pack and paper piercing tool, glue dots, dimensionals
