Butterfly Wishes

Here's one more card for today's featured stamper challenge. It's based on the same card as the first one I made, but stays a little closer to the layout.

I used the three step Butterflies stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps for the main image panel. I used two colors of ink on each butterfly--a very pale ink for the first step, then a slightly darker ink, stamped off once for the second step, then full strength for the final step. I layered this panel on coordinating cardstock, then added a silver spiral clip to the right side of the panel. I found a scrap of matching satin ribbon and tied that around the clip as an embellishment.

For the sentiment, I used an oval Nestabilities die to make a cutout in the patterned paper panel for the cardfront. I backed the cutout with paper that contrasted the color of the card base. The sentiment is stamped on an oval that's slightly smaller than the cutout and attached to the cardfront with dimensionals. To fill in some of the white space, I added some silver brads to either side of the stamped word.

Maria has posted the winners of Kitchen Sink's August contest. You can find them listed here. In honor of Kitchen Sink's first anniversary this month (yay!), the theme for this month's contest is "celebrate." You can find more info on this month's contest here.
