Friend-Ship In Color
I had a few of these already stamped, colored, and cut out ships left over from one of the swaps I made for convention (see it here), so I decided to put one to use for today's SCS sketch challenge. The boat, along with some "water," made a perfect focal image for this layout.
I used the scallop edge punch and a piece of Pacific Point cardstock to form a wavy body of water for the ship. I attached this piece to a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock using some foam tape to give it some dimension. The ship is slipped under the edge of the Pacific Point panel. I stamped a few white clouds in the sky to fill out the panel.
The bottom of the cardfront is covered with a strip of red striped paper from the Patterns paper pack. I considered using the reverse side of this paper (red flowers on a white background) for the top portion of the card, but it looked too busy to me. I tied a piece of wide grosgrain ribbon where the patterned and solid papers met, then used dimensionals to attach the image panel to the cardfront. I stamped the sentiment alongside the image panel in contrasting white craft ink to finish off the card.
Materials Used (all from Stampin' Up!):
Boatloads of Love stamp set, Basic Black and Soft Sky Classic inks, White Craft ink, Real Red and Going Gray markers, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock, Real Red Patterns designer series paper, Real Red wide grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch, Crystal Effects, dimensionals
