I was almost finished with the card and I was still puzzled about where I'd put the sentiment. I decided against adding another piece to the card and instead just stamped the small "much appreciated" sentiment directly on the image panel. I think I made the right choice there.

Regal Red Roses
I made this pretty card for Kristina's latest color inspiration challenge. This week's color combination includes Pacific Point, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White. I really like all of these colors, but it took me a while to find the right images that would let me combine them all.
I was almost finished with the card and I was still puzzled about where I'd put the sentiment. I decided against adding another piece to the card and instead just stamped the small "much appreciated" sentiment directly on the image panel. I think I made the right choice there.
I settled on Papertrey Ink's Garden of Life for the main images. This is one of the first times I've used the two step rose images in the set. This image is so easy to use! I stamped the solid image in Regal Rose, then stamped the outline image in Rose Red. I added some Kiwi Kiss leaves between the flowers, too. I sponged a little of the Kiwi Kiss ink along the edge of the image panel to soften the white. I went back with a clear Stardust pen and traced over the flower outines for a subtle shimmer. I think I even managed to capture a little of that shimmer in the photo . . .
I layered this panel on a piece of Pacific Point cardstock (I squeezed it in here!), then on a Kiwi Kiss panel. I added a scalloped strip to the left edge of the panel.
I used a piece of patterned paper from the Bella Rose paper pack to cover the bottom portion of the Rose Red cardfront. I wrapped a piece of wide Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon around the cardfront, placing it at the top edge of the patterned paper. I have really grown to like (okay, maybe love) that wide grosgrain.
I was almost finished with the card and I was still puzzled about where I'd put the sentiment. I decided against adding another piece to the card and instead just stamped the small "much appreciated" sentiment directly on the image panel. I think I made the right choice there.
Materials Used:
Garden of Life (Papertrey Ink); Regal Rose, Rose Red, and Kiwi Kiss Classic inks, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, and Whisper White cardstock, Bella Rose designer series paper, Regal Rose wide grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch, sponge, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); clear Stardust pen (Sakura)
