A Happy Heart

Here's another card using A Happy Heart, one of my pre-ordered sets from the upcoming SU! mini catalog. Yes, it's kind of a Valentine's Day themed set and Valentine's Day is still way, way off, but I liked the whimsical images, so it ended up on my order.

I used today's sketch challenge on SCS as the basis for the card. When I first saw the sketch, I was worried about finding a good mix of patterned papers for the sketch. I shuffled through my scrap pile for a while before coming up with this combo. I still have a bunch of odd-sized scraps from the retired Loves Me designer paper, which I love. I pieced together three of the different patterns on the cardfront and added a scrap of Pretty in Pink Prints Series designer paper, too.

I inked the main image using Regal Rose Craft ink (flower) and a Close to Cocoa marker. I sprinkled Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the on the flower and heat embossed it for some sparkle. I layered the image panel on mats that coordinated with the patterned paper. The last mat is a little longer to accommodate a piece of Chocolate Chip taffeta at the bottom. The card came together much quicker than I thought it would and I'm pretty pleased with the end result.

Materials Used (all from Stampin' Up!):
A Happy Heart stamp set, Regal Rose Craft ink, Close to Cocoa marker, Regal Rose, Taken with Teal, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White cardstock, Loves Me and Pretty in Pink Prints Series designer papers, Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, dimensionals
