Lots (and Lots!) of Verve

Like I said earlier today, the weather here was rainy and rotten. So I spent most of the day at home and had a lot of time to spend stamping. That was a good thing since I wanted to give Julee's One Sheet Wonder challenge a try. You can find the template for cutting the 6x6 piece of patterned paper for the challenge here in the Verve Stamps forum on SCS.

Below are my cards using the One Sheet Wonder template. I made 4 cards using the same basic color scheme along with the same three Verve Stamps sets, Polka Stars, Seeing Stars, and Great Expectations. It took me a long time to find a piece of patterned paper that had a pattern small enough to work on these small pieces and that I felt would go well with my images. I finally settled on a piece of double-sided paper from the SU! Washington Apple pattern paper pack.

Here are cards 1 and 2. The first card has a large star that was stamped in craft ink, covered with Iridescent Ice embossing powder, heat embossed, then punched out with a large star punch. Fun and sparkly IRL! The second card was actually the last one that I finished. That's because I lost the tiny 3/4" by 3/4" piece of patterned paper for the cardfront. I searched everywhere--and I mean everywhere--for this little bugger and I couldn't find it. I finally ended up cutting another piece, which is what I should have done to begin with instead of getting all hung up on finding a little piece of paper . . . Anyway, I like the way the sentiment is on this panel. The clear stamps make this so easy to do.

Here are cards 3 and 4. On the first card here (card 3) I stamped the swirl image on one side of the panel and set a punched out star over the swirls. I randomly stamped one of the smaller dotted stars in So Saffron ink, stamped off once, on the other side of the panel. Then, I stamped the sentiment over the stars in bold red ink. I embellished this design with a few star brads. On the final card, I stamped and punched out three small star images and arranged them on a panel along with one of the sentiment. I used a corner rounder to round two edges of the panel to contrast with all of the points on the stars.

Materials Used:
Seeing Stars, Polka Stars, and Great Expectations (Verve Stamps); Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, and Basic Black Classic inks, Bashful Blue Craft ink, Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, and Whisper White cardstock, Washington Apple designer paper, large star punch, star punch, Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, corner rounder, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); star brads (Making Memories); red satin ribbon (Target)

And, here's one last Verve card for the night. This one's for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I used the Thankful Blossoms set for both the main image and the sentiment here. I stamped the large and small flower images on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. I trimmed around them and layered the smaller flower over the large one with a dimensional. I attached a little bling to the flower to pretty it up.

The image is matted and set on a panel of patterned paper from Basic Grey's line. I added some scalloped panels to the edge. The top "awning" piece is a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock with a strip of Cool Caribbean cardstock along the top. The "thank you" sentiment fit perfectly on this strip. A piece of light purple satin ribbon is wrapped around the panel. I threaded a small scrap of blue satin ribbon through the knot for another pop of that pretty blue. I used some foam tape to attach the panel to the cardfront.

I think that's enough for today . . .

Materials Used:
Thankful Blossoms (Verve Stamps); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic Ciao); white cardstock (Xerox); Elegant Eggplant Classic ink, Elegant Eggplant, Almost Amethyst, and Cool Caribbean cardstock, scallop edge punch, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); self-adhesive rhinestones, purple satin ribbon (Michaels); blue satin ribbon (Target); patterned paper (Basic Grey's Euphoria line)
