Here's my card for this week's recipe at
Sketches {by Tamara}. This week's required elements were polka dots, felt, and something sparkly. I combined this challenge with
Jen's Sketch for You to Try to come up with this winter themed card.
I stamped the cute snowman from
Verve's Snow Wonderful on a piece of white cardstock, then added a few details with Copic markers. The snowmen images in this set are so cute! I created a snowy backdrop for the image with a piece of lightweight shimmery blue cardstock that I ran through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot embossing folder. This makes a great faux snow!
Had I thought this card through ahead of time, I would have made the Night of Navy panel acros the cardfront just a bit wider so that I could have used the snowflake border image from the Snow Wonderful set for it. Instead, I randomly stamped two of the snowflake images from Snowflake Splendor on the panel using silver ink. I attached a red scalloped border to one edge of the panel for a little more color.
The final element was the felt snowflake. I attached it to the card with a dimensional and added a small blue rhinestone to the center.

Materials Used:
Snow Wonderful and Snowflake Splendor and stamp sets (Verve Stamps); Real Red and Night of Navy cardstock, Encore silver ink, scallop edge punch, Felt Flurries felt snowflake, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); Moonlight White ink (Brilliance); blue self-adhesive rhinestone, silver ribbon (Michaels); shimmery blue paper (Target)
That swiss dot folder is my all time favorite. I like the card and the colors together are neat.
