No Snow--Yet

I went back to work today after a whole week off and now I'm off again for a four day weekend. I plan to do plenty of sleeping and stamping while I have the free time. I had a slight panic this afternoon after work when I completely lost my internet connection while attempting to repair my wireless network connection. Fortunately, I was able to restore my system settings and I'm connected once again.

I made this bright winter card using today's sketch challenge on SCS. I really like this sketch--definitely my style! I'm not ready to abandon my snow-themed stamps just yet. I mean, we haven't even had a real snow yet. I keep saying to people that because of that, we're due for a major storm right around the time of the upcoming presidential inauguration when there will be tons and tons of people in the DC area. Snow here is not a pleasant experience, so snow with extra people would be even more unpleasant.

Anyway, I used Verve's Snow Wonderful set for my card. I used the paper tole technique for the snowman image. It's colored with Copic markers and embellished with a little white Fun Flock. I realized after I was done that I have blue flocking powder too--oh, well. I created a snowy base for the snowman using some chunky snow glitter.

All of the colors for this non-traditional colored snow card came from the K & Co. patterned paper. They're all from SU!'s Bold Brights color family. I haven't pulled out many of those, other than red, in a while. The sentiment is stamped in turquoise ink and highlighted with a matching turquoise ribbon. I added a sparkly snowflake ornament, embellished with a greenish self-adhesive rhinestone, to complete the layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. Enjoy your New Year's celebrations with your family and friends this evening. Cosmo the crazy dog and I have planned a quiet evening at home to ring in the new year. Hope everyone has a fabulous new year!
