Birthday Bunny
My best friend’s little boy is turning 2 years old today—and, coincidentally, so is Inking Aloud. I went through my stamp collection, trying to find something appropriate for a card for a two year old and came up with the Lucky Bunnies set from The Greeting Farm (formerly Pink Poison).
I colored the balloon-holding bunny image with Copic markers. The bunny’s belly is colored brown, then covered with white Fun Flock for a fun textured look. I stamped a second balloon image, colored it, and cut it out. I used a fine-tip black marker to add a second string branching off of the balloon string, then added the second balloon at the top of the hand-drawn string. Two years, two balloons!
I decided to make the card with a fun fold. This is a vertical version of a "joy fold" card. I lined the inside of the card with a striped pattern from Papertrey Ink’s Men of Life patterned paper pack. I didn’t want something too baby-like and I think this worked well. I used SU!’s Short Order Numbers to stamp a “2” in the center of a Bashful Blue circle, then stamped the dotted circle from Think Happy Thoughts in Ballet Blue ink around the number as a border. I used a pop up glue dot to attach the circle to the front of the card. The image panel slips under the circle, keeping the card closed.
Materials Used:
Lucky Bunnies stamp set (The Greeting Farm); white cardstock (Gina K); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic Ciao); Short Order Numbers, Think Happy Thoughts, Ballet Blue and Real Red Craft inks, Real Red, Bashful Blue, and Chocolate Chip cardstock, 1 ¼” and 1 3/8” circle punches, white gel pen, pop up glue dot, dimensional (Stampin’ Up!); white Fun Flock (Stampendous); patterned paper (Men of Life from Papertrey Ink)
