KSS Takes on CPS

Kitchen Sink Stamps is one of the sponsors at Card Positioning Systems this week. Here's my take on the current sketch, featuring KSS images, of course.

I used Love & Luck, one of my favorite KSS sets, for this one. The colors were inspired by the patterned paper that I had on my desk leftover from a card I’d made earlier in the week. I really like the combination of blue and the variety of pink and red tones in the pattern and wanted to use it again in a little different way.

The heart image is stamped in pale Sweet Blush ink and the “xoxo” sentiment is stamped in bolder Berry Sorbet ink to overlap the heart just a bit. I used several circle punches to create the medallion looking piece for the focal image.

I criss-crossed two pieces of Berry Sorbet satin ribbon over the patterned paper panel on the cardfront. The bright ribbon is a nice contrast to the blue on the patterned paper. Here’s a little stamping tip I used in making this card: when you attach ribbon pieces on a cardfront like this, make sure to use some kind of tape runner rather than liquid glue to secure the ribbon so that there’s not a stiff line or mark from the adhesive.

All of the Kitchen Sink Crew members are joining in the challenge, so be sure to stop by their blogs to take a peek.
