You've Got a Friend

The cute bird images in the Cheep Talk set caught my eye on my first look at the new SU! catalog. I made sure that it was on my first order and it hasn't disappointed me. I've found that this set makes great looking, quick cards.

This card uses the smaller bird image along with the branch image. I stamped the friend sentiment under the branch using Pacific Point ink. A Summer Sun panel behind the stamped image really makes it pop against the cardfront.

I pulled the colors for the card from the colors in the dotted patterned paper from the Good Morning Sunshine paper pack. I used a strip of that paper on the cardfront, paired with a striped panel of Baja Breeze Patterns paper. The Kiwi Kiss panel on the cardfront is randomly stamped with the flower image from the Cheep Talk set. Since there's a lot going on on this card (spots, stripes, and curves), I kept the embellishments simple, adding only a piece of Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon. Now that I look at the card again, I may go back and add a felt flower in the lower left corner of the image panel.

I must go deal with Cosmo the crazy dog now. It's getting windy and that always freaks him out. He's already destroyed a full roll of toilet paper while I was at work today and now refuses to go outside. As I frequently say, he's lucky he's cute . . .
