i {heart} papers DT Challenge #4
It's time for another i {heart} papers design team challenge! This time, we're doing a sketch challenge, brought to us by Kendra.
I used some of the new SEI Bridgeport paper for my card. Since the paper has two coordinating patterns, it was easy to come up with something that would match for the cardfront and for the large circle element. I used Nestabilities circle dies to cut the circle from the varnish-finished cardstock.
I tied a strip of reversible light blue/parrot green satin ribbon around the panel, making sure to knot the ribbon so that you could see the two different colors. I added a pair of matching Prima flowers, coated with Angel Wings Shimmerz and embellished with a simple self-adhesive pearl. I’ve had these flowers for a while now, but I was having a hard time finding something to use them on since they’re such dramatic colors. This paper’s equally bold colors worked great with the flowers.
I added a simple sentiment along the bottom from the Hero Arts All Occasions Messages stamp set. So that it would stand out against the patterned paper, I stamped the message on a strip of Kiwi Kiss cardstock.
To see what the other DT members have created based on this sketch, you can stop by their blogs and take a look. You can find links to their blogs in the sidebar on the left. And, we'd love it if you'd play along, too. If you try the sketch, be sure to leave a link to your card on Kendra's blog. She's offering a prize to one lucky participant. Entries must be posted to her blog by noon on Tuesday, March 24 to be entered to win.
