I created two different card designs. Knowing I’d be making multiples of each card, I kept the designs simple and used the same images. Papertrey Ink’s Teacher's Apple set was the perfect choice for the main image. I added the “with appreciation” sentiment from PTI’s Mega Mixed Messages set. Here, I paired the red apple with a blue and red striped pattern from Memory Box’s Homespun paper collection. The panel on the cardfront is red to match the dotted apple image and the stripe in the paper. I matted the apple on a Baja Breeze scalloped circle to pick up the blue from the patterned paper, then added a coordinating red ribbon tab. The sentiment fit in the lower right corner of the card.
Materials Used:
Teacher's Apple and Mega Mixed Messages stamp sets (Papertrey Ink); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); white cardstock (Georgia Pacific); Real Red and Old Olive Classic inks, Real Red, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White cardstock, dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!); patterned paper (Memory Box Homespun Collection); circle and scalloped circle dies (Nestabilities); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels)
For the second card, I used one of my favorite layouts for smaller images. I used a bright striped paper from the Memory Box Beach collection at the top of a coordinating Summer Sunrise panel. I tied a red satin ribbon around the panel and layered the apple image on a matching red scalloped circle. Like on the first card, the sentiment is placed at the bottom right corner of the cardfront. It's kind of bright, but I think it works well for a card for a teacher of young children.Materials Used:
