Freedom Sneak Peek
Clear & Simple Stamps will be releasing a bunch of new sets on June 15. The “At Home Collection” features some fun house and home themed sets. Here’s a sneak peek at one of the new sets, Freedom. It’s perfect for this time of year!
Here’s a glitter window card I made using the large American flag image from the set. The image is colored with Copic markers, then set behind the panel on the cardfront so it is visible behind the large circle opening I cut with a Nestabilities die. I put some packing tape, sticky side up, under the opening in the card and sprinkled it with some clear glitter. This created my very own version of a star-spangled banner!
I stamped the “land of the free” sentiment in red to curve around the glitter window. I also added a trio of star brads to complete the card.
Materials Used:
Freedom stamp set (Clear & Simple Stamps); white Pure Luxury cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red Classic ink, Riding Hood Red and Night of Navy cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin’ Up!); patterned paper (Creative Imaginations—Helen Dardik line); star brads (Making Memories)
Here’s another patriotic card using a sentiment from the Freedom set. I used a sparkly gold star I cut using my Slice for the focal image. I paired the star with some striped paper in red, white and blue for the full patriotic effect. I used a zig zag stitch around the edges of the paper to break up the bold colors of the stripes just a bit.
The “proud to be an American” sentiment is stamped on a white panel. I added a trio of gold star brads in three different sizes as a coordinating embellishment.
Materials Used:
Freedom stamp set (Clear & Simple Stamps); Riding Hood Red Classic ink, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); patterned paper (Creative Imaginations—Helen Dardik line); star brads (Making Memories); gold paper (Target); star die cut (Animal Crackers Slice cartridge)
And, finally, here’s a fun picture frame I made using the star image from the Freedom set. I got a plain wooden frame at the craft store and coated it with white acrylic paint. After the paint dried, I used red Palette ink to stamp the star image around the star’s border.
I added some ribbon scraps in coordinating red and blue to the frame’s decorative wire hanger. Some red glitter on the star bead finished it off. I meant to add a photo of Cosmo the crazy dog in his July 4th stars and stripes bandanna . . .
The rest of the CSS design team is also showing off some sneak peeks, so you'll want to visit them to see what else is coming soon. Here's where to find them:
