Outdoors Again

I am having so much fun with these DoodleFactory Great Outdoors images from Starving Artistamps! They’re great for summertime card-making. I have a pair of simple cards to share today using some of the smaller images from the set.

This one uses the can of worms image. I colored the worms with Copic markers in kind of neutral colors, then cut out the image with a circle Nestabilities die. I layered the image on a coordinating circle mat, then on a square panel.

I used some masculine colors to make color strips across the card, then stamped the “worm wishes” sentiment across the larger panel. I added a silver brad as a simple embellishment.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Great Outdoors set and Outdoor sentiments (Starving Artistamps); Snow White cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa inks (Memento); markers (Copic); Ocean Tides cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Sahara Sand and Close to Cocoa cardstock, silver brad (Stampin’ Up!); circle dies (Nestabilities)

My second card also uses solid bands of color and a circular focal image panel. I changed the orientation of the card and added some embellishments to change the layout up a bit on this one.

I used the lantern image here, colored with Copic markers and layered on a pinked edge circle. I added a matching blue grosgrain ribbon tab to the image panel before layering it on the card. The yellow panel is stamped tone on tone with the polka dot background.

I added a trio of orange rhinestones around part of the stamped image. The "you light up my life" sentiment just fit in the lower right corner of the card.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Great Outdoors set and Outdoor sentiments, polka dot background (Starving Artistamps); Snow White cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa inks (Memento); markers, gold Spica pen (Copic); Lemon Tart Palette ink, Summer Sunrise and Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Bashful Blue cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle and pinking circle dies (Nestabilities); self-adhesive rhinestones (Studio 18); light blue grosgrain ribbon (Morex)
