Take the Challenge with Clear & Simple Stamps

Yesterday, I introduced you to Delivery Gent from Clear & Simple Stamps. Today, I have the perfect accessory for him. To go along with Delivery Gent, CSS is offering a free template download so you can create a delivery truck (or whatever kind of truck you’d like) of your own. It’s designed by our guest designer for the month of June, Sue Berker. This template is also the 3D challenge for this week at Paper Craft Planet, so assemble your truck and add it to the gallery at PCP so everyone can admire it.

Here’s my version of the truck template. I made it a stamp supply truck to match my Delivery Gent. The sides are embellished with some ribbon and scalloped strips. I layered some different size circles for the wheels and held them together with large silver brads. The headlights are made with gold metallic Dew Drops.

I combined some of the sentiments from the set to create the “logo” for the side of the truck. I stamped the driver and boxes on a separate piece of cardstock, colored the images, and trimmed around them. I put a cardstock loop on the back of the images so they’d stand up, like a paper doll.
Materials Used:
Delivery Gent stamp set, truck template (Clear & Simple Stamps); Snow White choice cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red and Close to Cocoa Classic inks, Real Red and Kraft cardstock, circle punches, sponge, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!); silver paper (Target); Labels 3 die (Nestabilities)

And, since it's the first Tuesday of the month, it's also time for the monthly CSS Take the Challenge. This month’s theme is masculine cards. Like lots of stampers, creating masculine cards is something that is really a stretch for me. I really like the one I came up with for the challenge.

I paired images from two CSS sets for this card. I started with the beer mug image from the Irish Kiss set (I love it when “holiday” sets like this are versatile enough that you can pull them out throughout the year!), stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the mug a second time, this time in StazOn ink on a scrap of acetate. I cut out the acetate image and adhered it to the colored mug with just a little bit of Crystal Effects to make the mug look like it’s made of glass.

I found some masculine looking designer paper from Basic Grey to cover the kraft card base. The image is attached to the cardfront with dimensionals. I added a wooden button as a simple embellishment. The “good times” sentiment from the Celebrate set is stamped in brown ink on a piece of twill. I cut the end to look kind of like a banner, then put the piece in place.

Be sure to stop by the other DT members’ blogs to see more ideas for masculine cards. And, if you’re a fan of CSS images, you’ll want to make sure to stop by the CSS website to find out the details on how you can join the CSS DT. The DT call has been extended through June 8, so you still have time to apply.
