Blogger Challenge: Week 114
This week’s blogger challenge is a sketch, provided by our leader, Lisa. I’ve been playing with my DoodleFactory Into the Woods stamp set from Starving Artistamps and thought that the trio of trees would be a perfect fit for this sketch.
I stamped the trees on a light blue cardstock panel. The treetops are paper pieced using scraps of cardstock that has been embossed with different embossing folders. I really like the look of the mixed and matched textures on the treetops. I added the grass using a sponge and some green ink.
I was going for a masculine look for the card, so I kept the rest of the design fairly simple. I covered most of the cardfront with some grid patterned paper in a light green and added a matching solid panel of green at the bottom of the card. A piece of green stitched grosgrain ribbon, embellished with a single button, divides the two different panels. Using a solid panel gave me a good place to stamp the “you’re tree-mendous” sentiment in coordinating green ink. I added three white brads as an embellishment
