Playtime Pair

I have a pair of cards to share this morning featuring two sets from the Playtime Collection from Clear & Simple Stamps. The full collection will be available on September 15.

I made this cute child’s birthday card using Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge along with the new Get in Gear set. This set is this month’s stamp of the month at CSS and you can use the code DTblog09 to get $1 off of your purchase of the set at the CSS store.

I stamped a stacked pair of robots for my image panel. The robots are colored with Copic markers and embellished with just a bit of glitter from some Spica glitter pens. I added the “it’s your birthday” sentiment alongside the panel in bold red ink and layered the panel on matching red cardstock.

I used some paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Cogsmo line for the panel along the right side of the card. These papers are a perfect match for this set’s robot images. The Spots & Dots embossing folder coordinated nicely with the patterned paper. To keep the look of the card more masculine, instead of using regular ribbon I knotted some blue twill around the card.

The “gear up for some fun” sentiment is stamped on a small circle and attached to the card using dimensionals. I wanted to add some metal, gear-like embellishments, but I decided that would make the card too busy, so I left it as is.

Materials Used:
Get in Gear stamp set (Clear & Simple Stamps); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers, Lipstick and Clear Spica glitter pens (Copic); Riding Hood Red Classic ink, Riding Hood Red, Soft Sky, and Blue Bayou cardstock, 1 ¼” and 1 3/8” circle punches, dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!); designer paper (Cosmo Cricket-Cogsmo line); Spots & Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug); blue twill tape (Martha Stewart)

I made this card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. Clear & Simple Stamps is sponsoring the challenge this week and offering a great prize, so be sure to check out the challenge.

I used the Oh Boy set, also available on September 15, for my focal image. The paper airplane was stamped twice--once on the large image panel and a second time on a scrap of paper. I cut out the plane image on the scrap paper and attached it to the large image panel with dimensionals so it looks like it's flying off the page. I added just a bit of Stickles to the puffs below the plane.
I used a pair of patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket's Lil' Man line for the panels on the cardfront. The sentiment is stamped in red ink on an aqua panel and accented with a single silver brad.

Materials Used:
Oh Boy stamp set (Clear & Simple Stamps); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red and Soft Sky Classic inks, Riding Hood Red cardstock, sponge, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (Cosmo Cricket-Lil' Man line); circle dies (Nestabilities); silver brad (Making Memories); Crystal Stickles (Ranger); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels)
