Costumed Creations

Here are two more cards using images from the DoodleFactory Costume Party collection from Starving Artistamps. One’s a Halloween card and the other shows another way this set can be used year-round.

This one’s a traditional Halloween card. I used the image of the little girl dressed up as a cat. The belly of the cat costume is covered with some white Flower Soft for a little texture. I added a soft yellow glow around the little girl using Copic markers. The gray cat image is added to the scene with dimensionals.

I layered the image on an orange panel. There was room under the image to add the “Happy Fright Night” sentiment and some black and white gingham ribbon. I paired the image panel with a strip of black and orange striped paper then layered the pieces on a lighter orange card base.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Costume Party and Grave Yard sentiments sets (Starving Artistamps); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest cardstock (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (DCWV); black gingham ribbon (Offray); white Flower Soft; foam tape

This card uses the clown image for a child’s birthday card. I went with a red, white and blue color scheme, based on the bold circles on the designer paper panel I used. The clown image is colored with Copic markers. I added some details to the clown with Glaze and gel pens. In keeping with the birthday theme, I stamped a pair of balloons from the Simple Birthday set for the clown to hold in its hands.

The rest of the card is pretty simple. I added a pair of red ribbon tabs underneath the image panel and a round panel with the happy birthday sentiment on the opposite side of the image.
