Snow with Faux
Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch. This week's twist was to use fabric. Since I didn't have any handy other than felt, I went with the faux silk technique to create a fabric-like panel to use on my card.
The focal image on my card is one of the cute snowman images from Verve's Snow Wonderful stamp set. I stamped the image on shimmery white ink and colored it a bit with Copic markers. The "fuzz" on the hat is made with Polar White Flower Soft. I trimmed around the snowman and attached it to a Ballet Blue panel with dimensionals. There was enough room for the "snow wonderful" sentiment to fit underneath it.
The snowman's layered over the faux silk panel I made using the border image from the Snow Wonderful set. I replaced the circle panel in the sketch with a sparkly silver snowflake, cut with a Nestabilities die. I added a matching silver ribbon and a few small self-adhesive rhinestones for some more sparkle to finish the card.
Materials Used:
Snow Wonderful stamp set (Verve Stamps); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Bashful Blue Classic ink, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, and Shimmery White cardstock, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Fresh Snow ink (Papertrey Ink); snowflake die (Nestabilities); silver ribbon (Michaels); self-adhesive rhinestones (Martha Stewart); silver paper (Target); Polar White Flower Soft; white tissue paper
