You Drive Me Bananas!

Starving Artistamps is one of the sponsors for this week's sketch challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You. I played along with this week's sketch, using images from the DoodleFactory Valentine Remix set and coordinating sentiments.

My focal image, Chip the monkey, is colored with Copic markers. I added a ghost heart and a wooden button to embellish the image panel. The button layered on to the heart works well to hide the adhesive I used to attach the heart to the image panel. Clear elements can be tricky to work with!

I used a pair of designer papers on the top section of the card, one with a dotted pattern and one with a leafy pattern. A coordinating green satin ribbon was wrapped around the leaf panel before I added the image panel.

I put a solid yellow panel on the bottom half of the card. I used a large scallop edge punch to make the embossed scalloped edge on the panel. Since the panel was a light, solid color, it was easy to stamp the sentiment directly on the panel to finish the card.

Materials Used:
Doodle Factory Valentine Remix and Valentines Sentiments sets (Starving Artistamps); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Close to Cocoa Classic ink, Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana, and Old Olive cardstock, scallop edge punch, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); designer papers (Imaginisce-Wild Things line; DCWV-Safari Kids Matstack); wooden button, twine (Papertrey Ink); ghost heart (Heidi Swapp); circle dies (Nestabilities); celery satin ribbon (Michaels); Embossed Curve punch (EK Success)

Here’s another DoodleFactory card featuring images from the Into the Woods set. It's a simple card using the fox image and a coordinating sentiment.

The fox is colored with Copic markers and cut out. The image is layered over a heart die cut that’s been stamped with one of the heart images from the DoodleFactory Sweets and Hearts set. I rotated the heart 180 degrees each time I stamped it to fill the shape up with few gaps between the images.

The pieces are arranged on a kraft card base. I added a simple brown button accent to the opposite side of the heart. The sentiment is stamped so it looks like the fox is standing on top of it.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Into the Woods and Sweets and Hearts sets, and Woods Sentiments stamp sets (Starving Artistamps); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Ruby Red Classic ink, Ruby Red and Kraft cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Dark Chocolate button, twine (Papertrey Ink); heart die (Nestabilities); foam tape
