Anniversary Medallion
It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet and this week, Kim is the hostess. Her sketch is pretty basic, but is open to lots of possibilities.
When I first saw the sketch, I thought about doing some dry embossing with an embossing folder and highlighting the raised areas with some chalks—something along those lines. I ended up going a completely different direction and used a large stamped image instead. I inked up my SU! Medallion stamp for the very first time for this one. The stamp was inked with Soft Suede ink, then stamped off once before stamping the image on a kraft panel. I really like the muted look here. I added a single flat-backed pearl to the center of the image.
The “happy anniversary” sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I stamped it in full-strength Soft Suede ink for some contrast. The stamped panel is layered on a Soft Suede card base. I added a pretty piece of knotted kraft taffeta ribbon to complete the card.
If you play along with this week’s sketch, upload your creation to the Paper Craft Planet gallery with the keyword sk112109 so it can be added to the gallery.
Materials Used (all from Stampin’ Up!):
Medallion and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets, Soft Suede ink, Soft Suede and Kraft cardstock, Kraft taffeta ribbon, Pretties kit (flat-back pearl)
