Bellarific Birthday

Here's the clean and simple card I submitted for this week’s Bellarific Friday challenge at Stamping Bella.

It features the cute KiloWatt image. I’m always in need of little boy birthday cards and this image is a perfect fit! KiloWatt is colored with Copic markers. I added a yellow-y glow around him, too.

The colors for the card were chosen to coordinate with the patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Boyfriend line. The card base is a soft aqua. I added a bold pop of yellow with the panel that goes across the card. Not my ordinary color combination—but it works with the designer paper! The sentiment fit on the bottom edge of the patterned paper panel, but it could have easily curved around the top edge of the image panel, too. Since this card was designed with a boy in mind, I kept the embellishments simple, just a pair of shiny silver brads.

Materials Used:
KiloWatt image, sentiment (Stamping Bella); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); silver brads (Making Memories); circle die (Nestabilities)
