Blogger Challenge: Week 126
This week’s blogger challenge theme is giving thanks. I went with a 3D item that would make the perfect table centerpiece for upcoming Thanksgiving celebrations.
I used a new sleigh template, available as a free download at the Clear & Simple Stamps site (click here for the template). Sue Berker designs fabulous new templates to share there each and every month.
The sleigh was easy to assemble, using only 1 sheet of cardstock, plus a little bit extra for embellishments. I made the sleigh base from a piece of Soft Suede cardstock. The sides are covered in some pretty flocked paper I’ve had in my stash for quite a while. I used a sturdy shimmery silver cardstock for the sleigh’s runners and attached them to the base with large brown brads.
On the back of the sleigh, I added a brown double stitched felt ribbon bow, embellished with a wooden button for a rustic feel. I combined images from the Clear & Simple Stamps Peaceful Pines set for the pinecone image, then added a sentiment from the Autumn stamp set underneath. I used a tag punch to punch out the images, then attached it to the bow. The sleigh is filled with some pinecones I picked up in the holiday floral section at the craft store. They’re one of those floral pick kind of sets and I just cut them apart with some wire cutters so I could easily arrange them.
And, for more project ideas with a theme of giving thanks, you can visit the rest of the challenge players. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right.
