Snowflake Blues
***Scroll down to the post below to see my card for this month's i {heart} papers DT challenge.***
Here’s my card for this week’s Viva la Verve challenge. The twist for this week’s sketch was to make a holiday card.
I went monochromatic on this one and it came together really fast. I stamped the snowflake images from Verve's Christmas in the Air and Frosty Flakes on a light blue panel in blue ink (full strength for the outline, stamped off once for the solid image). Once I’d filled the panel, I cut it into four squares and glued three of the four squares in place on the blue card base. I added a dot of sparkly Stickles at the center of each snowflake (and actually managed to not smear any of it before it dried!). The sentiment from Snowflake Splendor is stamped in silver ink in the open space.
I used a snowflake border punch to create a decorative edge for a strip to place across the bottom of the card. A coordinating blue satin ribbon is tied along the top edge of the strip.
Materials Used:
Christmas in the Air, Frosty Flakes, and Snowflake Splendor stamp sets (Verve Stamps); Enchanted Evening ink, Enchanted Evening cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Bashful Blue cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); silver ink (Encore); Baby Blue Stickles (Ranger); Snowflake border punch (EK Success); blue satin ribbon (Michaels)

It was very interesting for me to read that article. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to them. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
