Heartfelt Thanks

Here’s my card for this week’s Viva la Verve sketch and inspiration challenge. My new Verve stamps arrived on Thursday, but with leaving for California on Friday, I had to get this done in advance, otherwise I’d have used some of my new stamps for the challenge.

I took my inspiration from the floral sconces in one inspiration photo and the colors in another photo to create this card. I started by stamping 3 of the flower images from the Believe stamp set on white cardstock and coloring them with Copic markers. I carefully cut them out, coated them with Candlelight Shimmerz, then layered them with foam tape to form the pretty dimensional flower that I set on the round panel. A single pearl is at the flower’s center. So pretty!

I paired the flower with some pretty designer paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Everafter collection. Not my normal style, but elegant and really striking against the gray. I added a scallop edged strip along the bottom of the patterned paper and a matching rust panel above it. A piece of gray taffeta ribbon is tied around the rust panel. I stamped the “heartfelt thanks” sentiment from the Celebration of Thanks set in black just above the ribbon to complete the card.

Materials Used:
Believe and Celebration of Thanks stamp sets (Verve Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Basic Gray cardstock, Basic Gray taffeta ribbon, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!); Terracotta Tile cardstock (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (Cosmo Cricket-Everafter line); pearl (KaiserCraft); circle dies (Nestabilities)
