Paging Dr. Pea-Nut

Here's a sweet get well card that I made for today's SCS sketch challenge. I pulled out Our Craft Lounge's Dr. Pea-nut, a set I've got a while ago from i {heart} papers, for the focal image.

Dr. Pea-nut is colored with Copic markers. I used the color insert that comes along with the set as a cheat sheet to kind of guide my coloring. I stamped the matching get well sentiment underneath the image in red ink. I meant to get it a little farther away from the image . . .
I paired the image with two patterns from the My Mind's Eye Be Loved Collection kit. I used my sewing machine to stitch a border and add some interest. A coordinating red faux suede ribbon runs across the cardfront. I added a wooden button embellished bow made from the same ribbon as a simple accent.

My sewing machine went wonky on me as I was sewing on the card. I set it to a zig zag stitch, but as you can probably see, it sewed a straight one instead. So, I'm off to try to fix it. I was hoping that I'd get a little break from things falling apart for at least a little while . . .

Materials Used:

other: white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red Classic ink, Riding Hood Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Melon Berry cardstock, wood button, twine (Papertrey Ink); sewing machine

  3. Well this is just too cute Lori! Sorry your sewing machine gave out on you. Guess that's why I'm hesitant to use mine on cards- I hope you can get it fixed soon.
